The Township of King has the largest land mass in the York Region while also having the smallest population. Most residents of King live in the township’s main urban centres: King City, Schomberg, and Nobleton. Citizens of King are accustomed to the area’s rolling hills and valleys and its various ecological attractions. The Holland Marsh, known as the “Vegetable Basket” of Ontario, is rich with nutritious black soil and features market gardens, pick-your-own orchards, and large crop farms. Many of the houses in King are single detached homes. Due to proximity of the neighbourhoods in King, its citizen’s tend to have a strong sense of community. King is warm and humid in the spring and summer, with snowy winters that fall just below zero.
